What is a credit, in practice?+

One credit is roughly one question generated and cleared by the quality checks. Reading a document additionally costs about 5 credits per 100 pages, once per document.

What happens when I run out of credits?+

Generation stops, but nothing is lost: your documents, your bank and your exports stay available. You can buy extra credits at your plan rate, or wait for the next period to top you up.

Do unused credits roll over?+

Credits included in a subscription are refilled every period and do not accumulate. Credits you buy on top stay yours for as long as your account is active.

How is a team billed?+

You pay one seat per member and the team shares a single credit pool. The workspace owner is billed; every invited member takes a seat. An added seat is billed immediately on a pro-rata basis; a removed seat becomes a credit deducted from the next invoice.

Can I change plan or cancel?+

Yes, at any time from your billing area, including switching between monthly and annual billing. An upgrade takes effect immediately with a pro-rata adjustment; a downgrade takes effect immediately, without a refund for the period already paid. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid.

Which document formats can I upload?+

PDF natively, plus Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenDocument and EPUB, converted automatically on upload. Scanned documents are read with optical recognition.

Where is my data hosted?+

In the European Union, for storage as well as processing. Your documents are never used to train a model. Ultimate additionally lets you pick the region, or deploy in a VPC or on your own infrastructure.

Can I try without a credit card?+

Yes. Creating an account gives you 100 credits, with no payment method and no time limit. The Free plan stays usable indefinitely within its guardrails.

How do I sign in to CortexIA?+

With e-mail and password (reset through a single-use link) or with a Google account, and optional two-factor authentication (TOTP) is available on every plan. On the Team and Ultimate plans, institutions can enable Microsoft Entra SSO: our team registers your tenant and your verified domains, and everyone signs in with their institutional account.
